About
Social media and digital
I specialise in social media and digital engagement for the public sector and in policing. I’m a qualified trainer (CTTLS) and write training packages for social media. You’ll find everything I do in relation to this here.
Writing
I’ve been a writer for over sixteen years now – starting off as a staff writer on the local newspaper, then moving up to a couple of the nationals. I then moved into magazine and web journalism and naturally progressed into lifestyle journalism – travel, food and drink, celebrity interviews and music reviews. I currently controbute to a number of digital publications. You’ll find that work on this site.
Event organiser and DJ
Djing has been something I’ve been doing since I was at school. With parents owning a dance music shop, it was positively encouraged. Since then, I’ve played at a number of venues in London – both corporate and club residencies, and have been lucky enough to play in some great cities in the world. My music passions are old skool hip hop, motown, funk, soul and pop. My raving days are significantly diminished, but I’ll still try to get my equally music-minded DJ friends to slip something old skool and breakbeat-laden into one of their sets.
I also put on events in London and Brighton, and anywhere else they’ll have me. The most successful and long-running has been Lounge – a monthly night for women in London. I set this up in 2001 and have hosted various nights ever since.
